Cindy I will come make your heater work if you have your hubby come here and put my hoop house back togeather. Several days of strong winds took it apart.

Not a huge loss but a bummer. Well thats what I get for saying I had a new one on the drawing board. Now I have one to build and one to fix.

Would't worry to much about the heater probably some little thing easy to fix. Regards Ernie.

smithton, MO(Zone 5a)

thanx ernie....and i sure hope u get yours back up...i know bout them winds....we didnt have mine sealed up since the door still isnt on, but our high winds yesterday didnt seem to bother it....best of luck, and my heater guy is on his way..i sure hope hes not too upset that i got my propane from another supplier...but hey, that stuffs not cheap and i have spent lots already so i gotta do what i gotta do...:)

Smile, brommom! My "new" greenhouse, (I've had it since April) is still just a frame. My DH hasn't gotten around to putting the polycarbonate in yet. He keeps saying "got to get that greenhouse up and running for you" but...

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Threaten to bring all your plants in the house, thats how mine got covered!LOL

smithton, MO(Zone 5a)

yeah i did bring all mine in...lol...to the front porch..its so crowded out there i cant even water...but the weekend is here so now i will have time to go heater shopping...gin gave me some ideas today cuz i think its gonna cost just as much as a new one to get this old one fixed according to the heater man......sure is a lot of men razzing goin on in here...hhmmm....wonder y?...lol

Keep on razzin ladies cause if Linda really wants me to do something she knows nagging won't work on me. She is so sweet never a unkind word. I am immune to nagging or threats.

She just quits going to work, paying bills, cooking ,cleaning , paying the bills. grocery shopping, mowing the lawn, and I can't prove it but I think she won't answer the phone when she thinks it me.

After a few weeks I get the feeling something is wrong and ask her if there is anything special she wants done today.Works every time she folds to my charm and I get dinner once again.Ernie

Hey Ernie - you've got a woman after my own heart. The story of how I got my dishwasher is priceless, but a promise is a promise.
Oh brommom sure hope you get to play in your new greenhouse this weekend. Can't you do anything, even if you don't have the heat? I would be so disappointed if I had waited so long than got put off by heat. We bought a used propane heater too - never again, think next time we would buy new, ended up spending as much if not more than if we had bought a new one.
Have fun playing in your GH - what a way to start November! D

Ernie,ROTFLMAO!!!

And Kidney guy,I wanna hear the dishwasher story

I was promised a dishwasher for my Valentines Day Present, last year,so I quit washing the dishes....need more ideas, its tough to eat a steak on a paper plate, spagetti is kinda messy too......

what exactly is wrong with the heater besides it 'not working' ????

it is normally something simple like the wiring, or the on-off valve being screwy.
Normally a valve costs like $10....

smithton, MO(Zone 5a)

deeproots...i was told yesterday the valve is no good...and i should replace all the pieces on the back of the heater including the thermocoupler...but it does light..its hard to explain since i know nothin about these things...i think i will just end up gettin a new one....im gonna go to home depot in columbia this weekend....lets just hope they dont have any plants that i dont already have or i may come home with more than jsut my heater....lmao...:)

Hmmm...Cindy/brommom, the thermocoupler is about the only thing on the back of those Reznor's, and will cost lots less than a new heater.

At the top of the heater (top of the burner vents but below the outside casing) is a reset button. This may just need pushing in to reset the whole system. Hope they tried that.

If you have a blue-flame pilot light burning it looks hopeful. If the thermo-coupler is definitely gone they can also be rebuilt.

The rest of the heater should be fine.

Wish ya'll would take another look. I'm 'bout to drive up there in my pick-em-up...ya'll are worrying me to death!

:>)

Willacoochee, GA(Zone 8b)

yah, good call horseshoe, I forgot about reset buttons...
mine pop all the time in the summer due to excessive heat etc etc.

Anyway, should be a little panel up there with a button you can mash.
The pilot will stay on, but the burner's will never kick on.

best of luck

well i got some good news today(knock on wood)...my other heater guy came to look at my so called piece of junk heater....he called me back with a price to get it up and running.....approx(i trust him)$149 for parts-which include a combination valve of some sort and the dbl wall 6 inch pipe to exhaust the heater....then about $80 for labor...he said there might be some fittings to add in the end but not a big deal he said....now i know that is close to the price of one that i looked at over the weekend, but this one is here, i know the burners are good so what else would need to be done...and besides i dont have to move this one..lol....so far its looking good, like i said.....KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!...thanks to everyone who listened to my whine and i promise i will post pics as soon as i figure out my new cam..lol
