Queen of the Night, Andes Organ Pipe, Hedge Cactus
Cereus hildmannianus subsp. uruguayanus

Here is one of 3 large ones I have that just bloomed. In fact, they're all stocked with fruit now! This one is about 6ft. I removed a fruit yesterday. They look and feel like giant, candy red Roma Tomatoes. The birds love them - so do the ants. Ugh!

azrobin,
Nice picture of the your cactus except one thing...
The Cactus you have pictured here is Cereus hildmannianus subsp. uruguayanus instead.
Located here in the PlantFiles:

Cereus hildmannianus and it's subspecies are often and mistakenly lumped into Cereus peruvianus.
Cereus peruvianus has pinkish and smaller flowers than yours. It also has deeply notched and shallower ribs, which yours dont have.

By the way, Cereus peruvianus is now known as Cereus repandus.

Would you like to have this photo moved to the correct entry page?

It has been suggested that this image is of Cereus hildmannianus subsp. uruguayanus which has reddish-rose & white blooms. What colour were the blooms?

Scottsdale, AZ(Zone 9b)

Wow, glad I went to threads I had started to look for something otherwise I wouldn't have see your posts.

Growin - the buds appear a rose color until just as they begin to open. The bloom itself if white with the roes/red underside.

Xeno - Yes, please move the entry to the correct page if applicable. Thank you! Sorry for the delay in responding.
