Start Up Noise

Each time the computer is turned on, a type of music (more noise) comes on for about 5 or so seconds. I have been leaving the computer volume adjustment at '0' to eliminate it. But when I need the sound, I have to turn it back on.

Is there a way to turn off this start up sound, so the computer volume can be left on?
