Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

It's windy and chilly, partly to mostly cloudy and still a chance of rain, but they are saying upper 60s for Friday and Saturday. I've still got things I could do outside, so that sounds good to me - and an almost warm Hallowe'en, who can believe it!

We have been busy since the trip to Kentucky. Stan put a new bulk tank in, or almost in. It stickes out the wall of the milkhouse about 1/2 way. We've gone from a 451 gallon tank to a 900 gallon tank, and no, he doesn't plan to put on more cows! We've been on everyday pick up for about 10 years now. Our hauling agreement was grandfathered and we didn't have a stop charge. But there is a slight chance that we may have to change milk processors and any new hauling agreement would include a stop charge of at least $7 and maybe more. This way, we can go two days before the milk has to be picked up. Stan has also filled the basement with wood (did you notice how I said "We" when I started this paragraph, lol) and is off right now seeing about ordering siding for the house. We want to put Hardiboard on it, the old cedar siding having been mistreated over the years. The paint just flakes off but with the cement siding, it should last a little better.

I have been keeping busy, but not at anything that you can really say "wow" about. I'm still gathering in bits and pieces of autumn, and trying to get several plants rooted so I won't have to buy them again next year. That way, I can buy new and different plants come spring. I have also got several craft projects in the works and some that I need to finish up from before. I told the clerk in the quilt shop today that i really needed to get home and do some sewing, or get home and have a cup of tea and think about doing some sewing! I did buy only a yard of new material. It's a beautiful green with touches of burgundy leaf batik. I don't know what I'll use it for, but it is wonderful.

take good care.
