Rosa Zauber has, besides many buds, four large seeds pods.
I hope, she is going to open most of the flowers. For that reason, artificial light is installed to help to compensate the lack of daylight hours.
Seed pods
All of my pods on my versicolors are still trying to ripen. Not a lot of light over them, so maybe I better go turn on another bulb.
The things we do for our brugs! I lugged many plants upstairs to be under my light too. I was mostly worried about seed pods dropping. A few have dropped anyway. You'd think they'd show a little appreciation for all that we do for them!
Gagalin, it needs two none related plants to produce seeds. If insects do not do it, you have to pollinate.
monika, good luck with these, I hope all the flowers open and all the pollen takes.
Good luck with those pods Monika.I hope you get something good.
Thank you. Keep my own fingers crossed for myself LOL!
Monika, I forgot... Rosa Zauber is a double pink, isn't it? How exciting!! I bet there will be some wonderful babies from those seeds. The pods look big & fat!
Beautiful seed pods, Monika! After all my efforts at trying to cross pollinate, I have two pods that look similar to yours. I think the pods I do have were pollinated by insects since they are not labeled. So, it will be a surprise!
I do have a question since I've moved the plant indoors now. How will I know when the seeds are ready to be harvested? Will the seed pod start to break open like daturas pods do? Will the color of the pod start to change? I have your book, but I couldn't find the particulars about this.
Thanks!!!
