Has anyone used cannas for cut flowers?

They don't last but a day or two as cut flowers, Bud.

But the foliage ..especially the darks and variegateds ..are great as cut material!

Hold on!!!Cannas are great! If you know they drop and bloom, you can put a Canna in a bouquet, and expect a bloom out of that stem for days.just gotta toss the spent blooms.IMHO.

Ca va tres bien! Et tois?
How is the market going? One of our vendors from Red Stick,
Smith Creamery, started going to your market last week.
They were pleased with their first day.
We have been so busy that I have not had time to post
very much on DG.
We have two markets each week plus our wholesale flower
route. Sometimes it seems that we are working 8 days a week.
Yall come see us again soon.
Bud

Thanks for the replies on cannas.
I am trying a few stems in some Floralife just to see what
happens.
Will let yall know what happens.
I talked to a grower in Georgia and he said definitely
they can be used for cuts.
It seems that some varieties are better than others.
We shall see..

Good luck, Bud.......keep us informed.

Hi Bud, yep! I saw that article. Did you see how they talked about using them for cut flowers? Let me know if you would be interested in that route..I might could help you out.

I am not doing the market this fall season, I am hoping to be back in the spring, I don't know yet. We should be making a road trip real soon to come see ya. Jesse is buying Sally and I a new van that is more dependable. Whadda great guy he is! I'll be seeing you soon.
