I am dying to see the offspring of this one. So what is with NH and their being not able to take orders all summer?

thanks for posting JT. Glory sent me ths one, thanks Glory!
Brinda.... Ocre is a wild form, and prone to virus. this one was bred to be similar but without disease.... if i remember right...someone will correct me if i am wrong, lol.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

JT, It is beautiful and I hope you get many wonderful crosses with it.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful pictures! JT, have you found this one to be hard to root? My first attempt with a small side shoot rotted. I wonder if cuttings from harder wood will root better.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

This is a "new" form of Ocre and will not throw the same seedlings as the original.I ordered only because I am obsessive and have to have every one I see.As for rooting,I don't know.I tried an air layer for Tig.Don't know if it worked or not.How about it Bonnie.Did that thing live?
I will try some of the pollen this winter and cut the plant up,for cuttings,in the spring.
I really consider this one almost useless for breeding as none of us know the parents. It will be a shot in the dark and I don't intend to waste a lot of time with it.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

JT I put it in water and it's doing great. will probably pot it up tomorrow. thank you again so much!!!

I got some really great brugs at the swap, thanks to all!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

JT, my guess is you are quite right about using it for breeding. i want to grow mine out and see how it compares to my humble yellow. let us know if it is a good bloomer. i got some realy nice ones at the swap also.... thanks guys!

Arlene, your abandoned "Afterglow" was mailed this morning.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I guess I am not understanding now what New Ocre means if it has nothing to do with the original. Is this just a name some made up? Is it something that was crossed with the orignial Ocre and this is an offspring? If so, then Ocre genes would be there and surely someone could find out what it was crossed to and therefore there would be a history. Where did this brug come from? I guess I am confused about all this. Maybe no one knows anymore about this than I do, but if you do, please be so kind to tell me.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Brugnanny, you are right about this probably being a cross from the original Ocre but we don't know that for sure.Might just be a look alike. It was an import by Native Habitat.I will cross it to a few and see what turns up in the offspring.I will also send some of the seed to the BGI seedbank if any others want to play with it.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Good picture!

As I know: The New Ocre is a direct daughter from the wild Ocre. Donīt know the father.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks for all the great information. It will be interesting to see seedlings of this one next year.
