Thanks, Roshana. I have some seeds of these to trade. Check out my trade list.

Weez...you have mail!

Wonderful foxglove that should be kept away from other varieties so the seedlings can retain their pure color. I grow it out front, and the 'others' out back.

Too true, Golddog. It seems reseeding foxglove always tend to revert back to pink, no matter what the original mix might have been.

This photo will surely lead others to give 'Alba' a try!

I've admired the pure white foxglove for a few seasons, but just couldn't bring myself to order the seed. I guess I thought I was losing some value when I lost the freckles! However, of late, I've come to appreciate the purity of white flowers and how that compliment the brighter blooms in the garden. Since the d. purpurea is a biennial, I'll have to plant them each year from seed, unless I can find a nice spot where they can re-seed, separate from the other foxglove.

The white form tends (bearing in mind your climate) to be a triennial. Once you've grown the true alba in the garden, they will appear sporadically within any D. purp stand.

Beautiful plant WZ

Thanks, Baa... a triennial! I've yet to establish a place where my digitalis can just reseed themselves. I start them indoors each year, transplant to 3.5" pots, then plant them out in the fall to come up where I want them to bloom the next year.

Of course, some jump the gun and bloom the first, which really screws things up! I've got some heywoodii trying to make a stalk, and the weather is going to turn any time. I love the look of this variety, but haven't had much luck with them so far.

Heywoodii is notoriously a pain in the neck, nowhere near as hardy as they should be and prove to be fairly shy flowerers. I also love their flowers but I spend enough time tending to the other prima donna Digis!

I wish I could send you a couple of the Glory of Roundway (sterile hybrid), now they aren't the easiest or the biggest Digi but they are in a league of their own and a bit hardier than Heywoodii!

Yes, would love to try your Glories. Can't you send them by email! LOL!
