peruvian dafodil help

Ok I didnt know when I planted these that they had to be dug up before winter here. Problem-they are buried between oak tree roots and if I try to dig them out I know I will end up slicing them to peices. I covered them with at least 8 inches of mulch in hopes of saving them. Does anyone else have these that have wintered outside and came back in the spring?

Sorry, I have some hymenocallis here, but always just pot them in pots so they are easy to get to the bulb. Not sure if they will winter over or not, but sounds like you are gonna try. Maybe put another 6" or so of mulch over them and cross fingers.
That is what I am doing with my Majestic Palms here to try to winterize them.
Good luck,
Candee

Good luck with the dafs, if they don't make it, I have plenty of bulbs and would be happy to send you a few.
