Grandchild

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

This is a Whiskers seedling we have decided to call "Grandchild" it is dedicated to Gloria Lessner aka "Glory" for all the beautiful work she is doing with Whiskers, and naming her hybrids after her grandchildren.

It's very pretty Tracey. You can sure tell it's a Whiskers cross.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Bless her. She has given us so many wonderful brugs>

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Very sweet, and great leaves too. Maybe you could send her the plant and keep a cutting for yourself?

Another beauty and such a clear bright yellow. It is adorable just like a grandchild should be!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

There is a cutting rooting with her name on it. It has about 15 pods on it. It is a wonderful brug, very good little Mom. It grows really well, good sturdy branches, and blooms early, and apparently a favorite amoung the night feeding moths. It goes between a very bright pure yellow to a lighter pure yellow with the cooler spells, and look at those pig-tails.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It is a charmer Tracey. I am sure Glory will be thrilled.

So did the moths do all the pollinating or did you? Is it a smaller flower? very delicate lines to it. you know how I love the lower calyx.

Can I steal a line or 2 for a Mom's bragging rights here Tracey? I do not have a thread of my own going. I just heard last night that my boy kid ranked in the top 1% of the country in his LSATS (Law boards). We are so thrilled for him. He takes after me! LOL

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

this is a beauty named after a beauty.

congrats kell, that's a huge accomplisment.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Tracey, very pretty yellow and what a wonderful gesture to name this one Grandchild which is fitting with the Whiskers hybrids. Gloria loves those grandkids. Like Kell, I like to see the calyx hugging the corolla.

Kell, I know how proud you and Tom must be of your son.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Congratulations to all involved in this one. It is a pretty brug and I'm sure Gloria will be tickled to have one by the name Grandchild. It is so nice to see the many giving people here on this forum.

Kell, tell T. congratulations. Cool, and he probably did take after his mom!!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Well it looks like there will be a really good lawyer in the family now, do we get discounts on legal fees???? So jappy for you Kell, give him a big ole' atta boy from us!

The blooms are not overly huge and the plant I think will be a great patio speciman. These were all moth pollinated, the greenhouse was full of the night feeding moths, but the only ones in there were the seedlings, so I think we can grow some of these out on Pod-ners!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Tracey, that's a beautiful little plant. It is so cheerful looking.

Way to go, Kell's son. Wow, that is really some accomplishment. You must be very proud, and it's obvious you did something right in raising him. LOL

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Tracey, that is a great plant. I love the patio specimens that bloom and bloom and make a pretty "umbrella". Arlene, I am sure she will see blooms soon cause all the other cuttings that Tracey sent to Gloria via me have blooms are about to. They are not cuttings, but rooted plants and Glory is gonna love these.

Kell, is that the kid who looks like a young Elvis? Man, and smart too! Of course he takes after Mom.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

So Kell, how much longer will he have to go before he can hang up his shingle? Congrats to T and his parents.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

It's a lovely bloom Tracey. You must be thrilled.

Kell, congrats to all of you. And you thought he was having way too much fun at school.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I never should have horned in on Glory's thread. I apologize! Grandchild is such a gorgeous bloom for such a gorgeous lady!!

I was just bursting though with pride! LOL. My kid is a goof off. With that LSAT grade he should easily get into a top tier law school but because he has had too much fun for 3 years he now has to scramble if that is what he decides to do. The LSATS do not test you on what you have learned in college, but on your thinking capability. LOL...so now you all know no way he takes after me!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Another beauty Tracey. I love the Whiskers line.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Buds?? Yippee!! I can't wait to see what you and Gloria think! I try to get the rest out Monday, I am going over Sunday to pack them in peace and quiet this time!
