finding lost pets or finding the owner of a found one

For those that lose pets or that find a lost pet, call all your local vets and if you should have a person that is a liason between the lost and found community, call that person. In Alabama, there is a person that does this. His company is call Alabama Pet Registry. His number is 205-969-2241. Check with all animal control people in your area and even a nearby municipality. Check with the Humane Society in your areas and anyone that does rescue in the area.
Most importantly, make sure that your pets keep on their identification at all times. One of the most reported complaints i get is that they gave the dog a bath so he didnt have on his collar.
If you should move to a new area, make sure you put on new identification ASAP. It is most important to the life of your pets. Cell phone numbers or whatever will reach you the quickest is the best piece of information for you to put on the identification. Collars that you can put an id plate on is the best as it wont be caught in the crevices of the deck and such. Take care, Robbie
