My bat plant just bloomed again. I is interesting to watch the bloom. It starts out green and turns purple-black over several days. Does anyone know where the seeds are?

You should be able to pick up the dropped flowers that are fairly dry. Work on a piece of white paper so you can see them fall out as you pull the flowers apart.

Nice plant. I haven't tried this one yet. Hope you get lucky and find some seeds.
I love-love-love that bloom!!
that is a very unsual looking flower. I hope you find the seed.
i luv it!
rylaff you did it, I had to order it all I could find where seeds. How long will it take befor blooms? Janie
Very slow. they say it can take up to two years to bloom. Although it blooms a couple months ago and I thought it was done. Then it started again.
FYI - I just found this plant at Frank's Nursery, on a "TLC" table. All of the bat plants that they received must have gotten too cold, because ALL of them had buds that had died before blossoming. I assume that the rest will also go to the "TLC" table after they realize that they are flowerless. Marked down from $12.99 to $5.97. I'm told it will be dormant for the winter, but it is well worth the wait for this fascinating beauty! You may want to check in at your local Frank's, as they screwed up this shipment... probably everywhere! I must now search the forums on caring for this baby.
I had one of those and thought I was taking care of it during winter, I wasn't. It died. What a neat plant.
I grow Tacca from seeds....you need to wait until the fruit of the seed pods gets very swollen. The seed pod takes a few months to ripen, as it does it swells, and becomes softer, and slowly splits a bit, like ripe fruit... inside the flesh of the fruit are the seeds. The fruit even smells like fruit when opened.....This plant is hard to find, so be sure to wait until the seedpod is ready to harvest...too soon, no germination~ Hope this helps~ Debra
