Beautiful plant! Are the leaves naturally that shiney? Thanks for posting it. I'll look for one to add to my meager house plan collection!

Morning roshana -

Yep, they really are a sturdy thick leathery Philodendron leaf that is shiny, especially as the new leaves unfurl.

Great looking plant. Just curious though, what's the strange spikey greenish-white things in the background to the right?

That's a Alluaudia procera - Madagascan Ocotillo.

This can actually be planted in ground in zone 9b, but our winds are so severe in the winter that I choose to keep it in a pot and move it inside for the winter for fear that it will get snapped off at the top. It's in the sunroom this year because it will no longer stand upright at the ridge of the greenhouse.

That's an 8foot sliding glass door it is standing next to. It gets messy in the winter because it drops all those little tiny leaves.

Happ this is a gorgeous plant! I just purchased one for $8 in a 2 gallon pot. It is so extremely lovely. Someone was trying to tell me is was Philodendron Selloum...but I knew it was Xanadu from my studies. It is quite a monster and extremely sturdy. Thanks for the great picture...

Incidentally, I also heard that Xanadu is an accidental hybrid that was spotted as a seedling in Australia 20 years ago.
