Pale, pale....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Boy, I can't wait for summer when the brug blooms will get their color back again. This is ForeverMorr and she, Butterfly, and Pink Beauty are very pale now. They are still pretty, but I like DARK colors.

Frosty? You are having Kells' luck?

Only kidding, I like those LONG tendrils.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This one was taken on the 11th of Oct. and the first one on the 15th. It is amazing, the difference in the color of the blooms now.

Dark or light ... she is still a beauty!!!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I take back what I just said about all pink being boring. This is gorgeous.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks you all. I'm anxious to see her bloom next summer. Hoping she will still be nice and dark and she does smell good now.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It's amazing the difference in the colors when there is less sun and the weather turns cooler. They are still beautiful though Shirley.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Brugie, even though she is pale, she still is a beauty. I am glad that you are still getting some blooms.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks. I'm afraid today will probably be the end of it. While I have my yard man here, I'm having him help me empty the pots too. Will be a long and tough day, but nice to have it all done.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Brugie, That is such a pretty brug and such a good shot. If I had it I would surely keep it. Donna

Donna, I've got the pot in the garage where it won't freeze and have cuttings trying to root as well. Cross your fingers. This one hasn't been rooting well for me. So that I wouldn't lose it for sure, I did send a couple of friends cuttings to grow out.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Very nice Shirley, I love the tendrils! Keeping positvie thoughts that they will all root for you!

Plumieville, PA(Zone 6b)

that is a beautiful color! :)

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

It looks like a real wide skirt on her, Shirley. She's very pretty. Have you taken any measurements of the bloom? Can't wait to see what it looks like next year. I bet it will be gorgeous.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Actually, I can't get on chairs or ladders and the blooms are so high I can't smell them either. I did pull on off this summer so I could smell it and it was nice, but not as strong as some. I'll see if I can get Jim to measure the one in the garage if it is still good tomorrow, but it might not be as big as it would have been in the summer.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Me again. I was able to reach a flower and brought it in the house. It is about 10 inches from tip to tip across the flower right now. That isn't very big, but it isn't small either. The calyx is 7 inches, not counting the peduncle. It is about 2+ inches from the bottom of the calyx to where the bell begins, so it isn't a long flower either. The color in the picture is just a little more pink than it actually is right now and was taken without a flash.

Shoot! You didn't have to go through all that trouble! Sheesh... you even cut a bloom off! The color looks very even... right up the throat of the bell. Your measuremnts sound like it's on the BIG side. Looks big in your hand too. Very pretty, Shirley. You should be proud!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

No doubt....you should be proud Brugie!!! I really like it! TONS! I know you said Pale, Pale...but it sure doesn't look like it here.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks. I am very happy that I did get one good pink seedling of my own this year. Why it has more color in the garage than it did outside, I have no idea.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Pink was my favorite this, my first year! But, when you look at the lot of what you have, it's like children; each is unique and you love them all! Nice brug, Brugie ☺

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Shirley, I just love everything about this Brug, the color and shape are hard to beat. You should be so proud.
