Challenge Week 9, Day 5

Albany (again), NY(Zone 5b)

Still keeping at it here. Went to the gym again last night - upped the time on the cycle a minute, kept the RPM's high and did all of the circuit weights afterwards. I'm still on the low end here, not like some of the super cyclers who can go and go and go - maybe I'll get there, but I get bored and need some variety. Overall - the workout (cycle + weight machines) is about 50 minutes. I don't push too hard, and sometimes have to wait on a person to finish their reps.

Still eating well - staying under 20-30 carbs a day. Still minimal progress on the scale. Time of the month doesn't help either.

I'm enjoying my chef salad and meat salad each day. I make the big garden salad at the beginning of the week for each day, and then make either tuna, chicken or turkey salad for the protein (might include a boiled egg). I try to find different things to add to the salad - ham, pepperoni chunks, feta, mozzarella, greek olives - so they're interesting, full of flavor.

Breakfast consisting of a < 4 carb bar, which, with my morning coffee at work is just fine.

Dinner is usually a simple meat dish - although I did recently find some soy based hamburger buns (3 or 4 carbs) that are really pretty good. I think one of my all time favorite meals is a BBQ cheeseburger. I usually use a dry rub, minimal carbs.

Sooooooooooooo, eating right, working out, drinking lots of water - and the scale won't cooperate - when am I going to get past this plateau?!?!?!?!?!?!

:(

Oh well, I guess I had to rant a little bit, please bear with me.

I wonder if I am going to have to go on a week of radically low carbs to get past this slump. I am very much trying to eat normally (something I can maintain AFTER I reach my goal weight), but it doesn't seem to work.

Over and out.

How is everyone else doing?
