Wow.
That has to be one of the most unusual plants I've ever seen.
Is it a vine? Do you have seeds?
;-)
Very cool plant....tell us more! Is it a tropical? It's such a true turquoise color...beautiful.
This plant is originary from Philippines; it is a twining vine, up to 70 feet tall; needs abundant water when growing and moderate the rest of time. The propagation is made by seeds or stem cuttings in summer, layering in spring; it needs light shade and doesn't tolerate frost.
Stunning plant, it really is that colour.
I have one in my greenhouse which I hope will flower next year.
Seeds only stay viable for a few days so normally propoagated by cuttings/layering. Prone to aphid attack.
In UK good specimens at Kew, RHS gardens at Wisley, and especially Cambridge Botanical Garden.
Great photo! Gotta love that blue! I've never seen it before. Thanks for posting it and the information about it too!
Do you happen to have any seeds from this plant?
No seeds unfortunately, and I gather that the seed only remains viable for a few days after dehiscence so if you find a source make sure it is fresh from the vine!
I took that picture at Rio de Janeiro's Botanical Garden, so I don't have seeds. Here Jade can be found in the Botanical Garden and in the house of the great brazilian landscape designer, Roberto Burle Marx.
I seen this vine at the Botanical gardens in NYC, it is a beautiful jade color and it was really long.
