kell's special package - gasp!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I got a bunch of cuttings from kell. I was so excited; I had to rush home and pot them. My boss is going to let me use a bathroom that we don't use in the office for plants. It is huge and has a covered giant jacuzzi that I'm going to put my plants on. The office used to be a house. There are 2 that I don't know what the names are. One says, "EP" which is short for .......? and the other says "Versi Pean??"
kell, I can't thank you enough. I hope I can get them to live until spring. I need 3 or 4 at home, 1 or 2 at the community center, where I garden and the rest at the cemetery, where I work. I promise NOT to put down a little marker that says "kell."

EP usually means Ecuador Pink, and I would bet the other one is versicolor peach! They sound beautiful!

Well, I potted them and put a plastic bag over them. I hope that works. I did 2 of my Isabella's at home and they showed a little mold so I took the bag off...What do you think?

I wonder if bagging them like that is more suited to the summer time while the plants are actively growing. I didn't have good luck with the fall cuttings that I bagged.

I do not know. I have about 50 bagged in my dining room now and when I left I peeked and they were doing great. Some had been in for 3 weeks and some 1 day. I am very careful to wet the fast draining, light soil well. Then I drain it well, then add the cutting to a hole I make with a pencil after I dip the piece into rooting hormone. I do NOT rewater. I rinse the bag with water but I shake it out so very little stays in bag but the inside of the bag does get covered in a fine mist after it has been sitting there airtight a few days. I keep the brug airtight for several weeks. Sometimes I wait till I see some new leaves. I have had great luck, very few problems. This is the only way I could root my lochroma also. It is like a mini greenhouse. Oh, and I stick my bagged pots in a window on a sill. I also make sure my hands are clean and I use clean bags, pot, soil.

I hope it works for you for it is so easy and I do not have to worry over them as they root.

oh, mine aren't airtight, just baggies places over the plants and down onto the pot. How do you make them airtight?, use a rubber band?
