Butterfly....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Butterfly is one I rescued from the cold a couple of weeks and I'm sure glad I did. She isn't as dark at this time of the year, but she sure is putting on a "bloomin'" good show right now and the smell is wonderful.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Beautiful. Mine is blooming, for third time. Had only 9 blooms, but they are very dark pink. Go out at night and it smells Heavenly. I like this one almost as much as the ones we have been wanting, L'Amour. RK, etc.

When I left home mine finally was full of buds. It bloomed once before and as I recall it was a flat one. I wish I had my pics here to go back and look. This one looks like Rosamond but the calyx is smaller and higher up on the flower it seems.

Brugie, what do you see as the difference? Yours
looks so grand.

In the heat, it is much darker and the fragrance is overwhelming. The size of the bloom is much smaller than Rosamond/Pink Beauty. The plant doesn't get as big either.

Brugie, mine is 8 feet tall, many branches. it bloomed a lot from spring through summer, getting ready again now. last year it was next to PB/R, it looked half the size, and usually about the same color.

My Butterfly had some really dark blooms this year, more so than last year. Maybe it was our heat. Nothing much is normal color right now, but hey, they are blooms and that is something that was pretty scarce this summer in Iowa. Did you take many pictures this summer Arlene? I'd love to see more of your place. Your lawn always looks so pretty.

One of my favorites too Shirley, love the smell.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

She is one of my favorite too. Just wish she had a stronger smell.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Gosh, she's a beauty!

I think Butterfly is really strong smelling. Reminds me of a strong baby powder. I think she is much stronger smelling than Pink Beauty or Rosamond. Guess our smellers don't always smell the same way though. LOL!!
