The first time I saw these trees was in Northern Italy and I took photos because they were so fantastic looking. I never saw any this big! What a photo! It took me quite a while to find someone who could identify my picture! I wish they grew here, too!

Thanks for the photo, as these are mature and aged Monkey Puzzle Trees, and I see the upper branches are still green. I have been fairly sure that our own 90 + Monkey Puzzle tree has died as it has the heighth but the branches are all brown now at the top. Happened over the past year from one spring to the next. We aren't sure now what to do with it, and dear husband, who has taken a fondness to the tree is convinced it is still living. I can see from the photo you shared that the remaining upper branches on a well-aged Monkey Puzzle Tree should still be green. I think ours is no longer healthy and wondering if it should be taken down before it falls on it's own. How long do these trees live? (I included a photo of our 90 + yr old tree).
