Good morning. EvaMae, I'm so glad to hear the good report on your husband and that he is home again. Did they ever determine where the leaks are/were? I hope you are getting some rest now, I think you need it.
Last evening I finished canning the tomatoes. The ones ripening in the basement will go in soups and salads unless they all tend to ripen at once. Some of them won't ripen at all and will become compost.
It's a pretty day, nice and clam, sunny and going to be up to about 60. Yesterday I got my garilc planted just before the rain came, it wasn't much but enough to settle the dust. I watered the garlic and had planned to go water it again in a couple of hours when the first had a chance to soak in but I didn't have to. When the soil is so dry it absorbs water very slowly and most of what you give it just runs off if it gets too much too fast. I ordered a 6 variety collection of garlic and split it with a neighbor and there was still so much that I think everyone will get garlic for Christmas in 2004! Unique gift, don't you think?
I'm already getting excited about Tuesday. I will leave here just after daylight and drive over to meet Lenjo (Joann) and visit for the afternoon before I have to go to the airport at Portland and pick up my husband who is returning from Romania that evening. Lenjo lives about hour from the airport.
Have a great day everyone, count your blessings and don't forget to thank the Lord.
