This is the very first bloom I've gotten from a seedling brug. It's from Crestedchik's insect's cross. Suaveolens White with a mystery father.
I know that it isn't spectacular, but I'm thrilled to have a seedling bloom. It's eight inches long including the calyx and four inches across, and smells like fresh laundry.
Some of the others have buds, but they aren't far enough along to bloom before the big 'F' word comes.
Yoohoo, Crestedchik, first bloom from seedling!
Where did that long tendril come from?
Are they all like that?
Wonder if whiskers was the daddy?
Dang Moths,LOL!!!!,I love White!
CC,you have mail.
Ronna be sure you keep me a slip of it!Those Tendrils are sweet.
Rooty.
The tendrils are a little over an inch long, but when the flower is four inches across, they look really long! Two of the tendrils were bitten off by something, but the other ones are there. There's only this one flower so far, I'll have to peek through the jungle to see if it has any other buds that have time to bloom.
Yeah, Root, I have a hummingbird moth that visits at sunset every day. I think he's on a timeclock! He shows up right at the official time of sunset and gets to work. Do I give him credit as the hybridizer if he comes up with a cool one?
Well Im happy to see one that isent a straight suavenolens looking bloom
You did great with the seeds
all we need is some color now......
Nice pictures. Another flush of bloom might tell you more about your new seedling. I've had a bunch of blooms this fall that were missing tendrils. Seems we have some critters around here that are still hungry.
