Woohoo! It's only been 5 days and I've lost 5 pounds.
It was really hard at first, not giving up the breads but giving up the sweets that practically killed me. I bought alot (and I do mean a lot) of sugar-free jello. After the 4th day, no more cravings for sweets. I'm eating regulary and drinking lots of water. I'm also eating breakfasts again which helps a great deal as well. At first, I was limiting my portions, but now I eat until I am satisfied, which the diet recommends anyway.
I've been a really good girl, no cheating. I did screw up once and accidently added a tsp of regular sugar to my coffee instead of Splenda. I just did it without thinking. Habit and all that. The sugar bowl has been moved to the dining room table so I won't make that mistake again.
Even though I am over 60 lbs overweight, it wasn't the reason for starting this particular diet. One of the biggest reasons I started the diet is because I know I have a serious sugar addiction. It has gotten really bad. My second reason is my lack of energy. Third and most important reason is that my DH and I have been trying unsuccessfully to have a child for over 2 years. There is a condition where if your blood sugar is too high, it can prevent you from having a child. I can't remember the name of it. It's sort of a prediabetes thing. I'm not sure if I have it, but Diabetes does run in my family. Regardless, reducing my sugar intake is a good thing.
