I have one of these trees... and after their flowers bloom... they turn to pink pods and then they fall off the tree and then thousands of little trees pop up all over! I have hundreds of them in pots and hundreds of them on the ground around the big tree. But I love this plant.

THis is my friend's tree and he has the same problem with thousands of little treelets coming up every year. Only it's a city tree so he can't cut it down despite promises of planting something much nicer and less weedy. It does have it's nice moments, though, like in this pic. Too bad it only looks interesting a few months of the year.

I also have one of these trees, with lots of little seedlings all over. I've transplanted some into pots, but the leaves are a bit different, they feel velvety and the little leaflets have serrated edges. When do they become like the parent tree, or do I need to graft them. It's not common down here (Cairo), in fact I think it's quite rare. I really like this tree.

I don't think they have to be grafted... my friend has one of these in his lawn (that one in the photo) and it produces tons of seedlings every year. Potted some up and they look like adult trees in just 4-6 years. New growth is very attractive... reddish orange and soft.

Thanks. It is an attractive tree. I'm currently building a new house, hopefully will be ready next year, I'd like to take some with me. Strange that it's not available anywhere. Wouldn't grafting speed up flowering.
