This is by far not a good picture but it's butterfly starting to come into bloom again.
The color is much deeper in person than what you are seeing in the photo.

How come ther aren't any holes in those leaves? My butterfly was the food of choice for the slugs.

Poppy, I finally managed to get rid of the cats and haven't seen any slugs on any of my brugs.

I love the fragrance from this one. Mine should have several blooms open tomorrow. I just hope Mother Nature will let me enjoy them for a few days now.

I do grow pretty brugs don't I? !!! (LOL)

Hey, looking at the pic of those green leaves and that flower I had to pat myself on the back.
Never hurts to brag on yourself once and a while!

They are really pretty, David. What do you feed your brugs to get them grow and bloom so fast?

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

Sylvia,
For about4 months during the summer, starting with May I fed very heavily every other day with MG. Then about once or twice a week with Alaska fish emulsion. (SUPER STINKY!) The plants have not been fertilized at all since around the last of August..
I don't follow directions on the box of MG either I give them what I want them to have. I'm surprised I didn't kill any of them by doing this.

David, your Butterfly is very pretty, and the foliage is great. I have about 20 seedlings from seed from Kell and BGI. Most of them are in 6" or 7" pots now. They are growing so fast. Several of them are 2 ft. tall. They are in my small greenhouse. I am only fertilizing them lightly as already they are so big. If I prune them down to half or less in size will they just branch out to be bushy types. In the spring can I prune them again to tree type. The cuttings from you are in2" by 4" tall pots and all under a plastic bag. I hope that is the right way to go. Donna
