This is the first time for this plant to bloom since i've had it. I wanted to do a flower comparison between it and rosamond but as fate would have it PB open today and the only 2 rosamonds that were open fell off last night.
How's that for good luck! I'll still get my chance though. Rosamond will have one more flower open tommorow.
logee's pink beuaty
Gosh David, it's really too bad that the tendrils are so "short" on this one. LOL. Great looking plant.
David, it looks like those spinning wheels we played with as kids. Or, maybe you are too young to know what I'm talking about. LOL
Wow, love that color. David, my cuttings you sent me are really taking off. Thanks again.
David, Another Beautiful Brug!!!
Very pretty pictures David. I would have had to forego the picture if I had to lay on the ground to take it. I'd be yelling something like on that old commercial or whatever it was..... "Help!! I've fallen and I can't get up". Seriously, very nice pictures.
Very pretty, David. I love the long tendrils.
you know I just noticed something about this thread. I don't know how to spell beauty. Look at the heading.
That's what happens when you have to stand on your head to take pictures and then come sit in front of an electric box thing called a computer and your eyes start getting all fuzzy!
when you look at the first pic in this thread, the orange and white brug flowers that you see at the bottom of the pic is my creamsickle blooming.
David, you are right!! See, I guess we are all too anxious to get to the photo to pay attention to spelling! Now we know the origin of the quote "a photo is worth a thousand words".
Beautiful,David.
David, she sure is a beauty and so is your creamsickle. Gotta love those brugs if you are willing to lay on the ground to get that pretty picture . . also, you are much younger than Brugie and I. Beautiful color for fall blooms.
Now I am pouting! Everyone gets dark pink but me!!!
I have been wondering if Logee's PB is different from the one that we all have had before Logees came out with theirs?. Anyone know?
VERY pretty! I just cut my Logee's PB down yesterday. I did leave one bloom. Hopefully I'll get to see it. David how old is your plant? I purchased mine from Logee's in the spring. It was a TINY little cutting but grew very quick.
Datdog, would you have a cutting you would be willing to share? Idon't know if I have anything you don't already have for a swap but I'll be pleased to send you my cuttings list to see if there is something there you might want. This is one magnificent brug! WOW Catsmeow, thanks for sharing your beautiful blooms. A great way to start my day. Padre
Pretty flower.
Larry
datdog,
I also got mine in the spring of this year as a rather puny little thing. It got potted into a 4" then a 1 gal then into a 3 gal and from there in to the ground.
Then it took off!
Padre, I'll be taking cuttings from this one soon. It's just starting to come into bloom so someone would have to be standing over me with a hammer to my head to make me cut it right now! This is it's first flush and it's loaded with buds and since we aren't expecting a frost here for at least a month, i've been trying to hold off on cutting things all the way back.
If datdog can't help you just let me know and we'll work something out.
Oh how nice :-) No hurry at all, no deadline to meet, just each day to enjoy, a moment at a time. Whenever is soon enough. Padre
Padre, How are the sanguinea seedlings doing that I sent you earlier in the year?
Could I pretty plese see that cuttings list also?
David, the four seedlings you sent never survived the journey to the Bronx. They were pretty beat up and defied all my homeopathic remedies:-) I have two plants which I grew from seeds (2 out of 50) The picture below is of one of them. I moved them into a shady part of the garden as a consequence of reading the advice on this forum. They will move into the greenhouse in a week or two. I will send you a list of the cuttings I may have as I bring the plants under cover. Please be patient. It will be a week or two yet. I will put a 'Reserve' sign on the sanguinea cutting for you if you want first dibs. Padre.
Padre,
I finally gave up on my sangs and tossed them out. Then about a week ago a friend turns around and gave me a 2 footer so now i'm stuck with another one.
Here's a few more pics of PB I took today.
Shirley I did lay flat on my back to get this one! I like how the sun rays are shining through it.

that second picture..It looks as though it might reach over and pinch ya..
Nice pictures David. Enjoy them as much as you can. The next month will go so fast and then what will we do with our time. At least you won't get below zero and have our kind of winter to deal with. I just hate to see everyone's brugs bite the dust for the winter months.
Awww Brugie--now Im gettin winter anxiety :S so soon? nice shots by the way. cheryl
LOL Cat, I took this one today of my young, alley tree that just started to bloom. except I did not have to lay on my back but stood up on a ladder to get it! This tree is as tall as my house. I hope it puts out a full flush before the winter gets it! The crown is about 8 feet cross! The size amazes me.
PS Padre, great looking sang!

Beautiful bloom Kell and the sky is so clear and blue.
All right Kell, now i'm jealoous. I want mine to be that big! Maybe next year. I got kind of a late start with most of my brugs but have been fortunate enough to see almost all of them bloom.
Now I know why it is called Pink Beauty. Your foliage is so dark green. I've never that result from Miracle Gro.
It's called trick photography Sylvia! No actually the plants haven't been fertilized sine July or August.
For those of you who are familiar with Brook Green Gardens located in Pawleys Island i'll be meeting with one of the master gardeners monday morning to share brug cuttings with them. They grow frosty and charles but that's about it.
Since I have the material to cut on I thought it would be very nice to share some with one of the largest outdoor sculpture gardens in the world. This way everyone who visits next year can enjoy the beauty that these plants will surely bring to the gardens.
In return they are letting me take cuttings of various things that I may want on the property. I'll probably just do a lot of seed collecting maybe some cuts if I find something interesting.
David, you are so generous that pretty soon I bet all of South Carolina is going to be covered with brugs. They will have to change their state flower to brugmansia (better called angel trumpets).
