Contrasts nicely with the dark house sideboard. Makes a great hanging basket. Roots have never been killed by a freeze even though the basket has been left out all winter.(San Antonio, Texas)

It's me again - if the other one is Gibasis geniculata, this one is too, yes?

Hi, Htop,

I see you have a nicely shaped gibasis geniculata. Do you happen to know what the best way is to make a full, well foliated plant like yours.

I have taken a cutting half a year ago, and tried various techniques, pinching, pruning, planting several cuttings in one pot, but I still cannot produce a nice plant. All my cuttings make feets and feets of long stems, and the plants look strange. I tried to wind those long stems, but again, the purple of the underside spoils the impression.
Thank you for the reply.

Nina,

I have several planted in this container. I cut it back every spring to about 3 inches. Other than that, I don't do anything else. I do not fertilize it. It is growing in filtered shade most of the day and gets a little morning and afternoon sun. I do not cut it back after the first pruning and it does have very long stems.

I hope this information helps you with your plant.
