Good morning everyone.
Coffee is brewing and the sun is bout to come up here.
Things have been busy. When Hubby and I have the same times off we cut wood for the winter. We don't really have too much cut, so really need to get on that.
My cousin came over yesterday and took the old clutches off the bush hog. He showed me how to use some of the attachments for my compressor. He hooked up an electric outlet in the barn and then showed me where to run more wire. If I get time today I will run more wire, put up the outlet boxes and hopefully be able to set up my lambing pens, before the winter sets in. I am planning right now to put in one outlet for every lambing pen. That should give me enough power , in case I need heaters to keep the water from freezing in the pens. MaryE, if you get time would you send me the lambing pen plans you had? I think I have my pens planned way too big. But I have a cattle man helping me plan it and you know how that goes. He is so good to help me, and he likes doing things his way , he always does a wonderful job- just not exactly how I would do it.
I think I am going to need a new battery for my tractor. It would only start when jumped yesterday. Darn the luck.
I certainly listen when you dairy people talk about burn-out and the such. One of my retirement dreams has been to get a milk cow. So talked to another cousin (got lots of these around here) up the road and he and I may trade off milking one of these days. The difference is he wants to do it by hand and I would like a little milking machine of some kind.
Someone is giving me an old riding mare next week. She is old and they don't want to send her to market. I just need something to ride fence that is well broke. Not planning on taking any kind of fall and injuring myself again. I am so excited about this.
ok, well of to check my e-mail and the other forums.
