imzadi, a scented garden would be a lovely idea for that child; one in which the leaves have some wonderful textures. Someone else can answer your question better than I about which variety.

Eric's Fragrant White is what did best for me. I'll be taking cuttings and will offer when they are available. I'll try to remember you and also, if you can, post to my thread when I post as a reminder. They smell just wonderful!!!!

For in the house, a jasmine plant would be nice. Once established, they are nearly always in bloom in a sunny window. The ones I've had smelled great. They have to be watched for mites, but so do most other houseplants. Brugs and Dats will only have fragrance in the evening until early morning. I'm not sure there would be enough light through a window for a datura, but I've never tried it.

Don't forget the mints, basils and other fragrant herbs. As for a fragrant Datura, try "Double Purple".These smell good in the daytime. If it's actually a brugmansia you want, you can't beat good old Dr.Seuss.

May I send you a "Stinky"? It is a variegated plectranthus , sometimes called Cuban oregano I believe. It has a strong herbal odor. As near as I can tell, no but will eat them and they are easily grown from cuttings. I wish my vicks plant was large enough to take a cutting from too. let me know.
