Great looking flowers CC. How many more seedlings do you have with buds?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

V. seedling, really nice blooms. How did you do that? Make the egg frame for Amber Rose. Cute!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Giggle...I don't know how many I have with buds,my GH is JAMMED with plants and I know there are things blooming in there I just can't see.....

Edited to add
The egg shape is one of the choices in shape my photo software gives you, theres all different shapes,I'm just usually to rushed to use them.....

Gorgeous CC!Wow!Sure would like to squeeze into that GH myself!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Your pictures are very pretty. I have a question though. How did you get one of Monika's brugs? I thought they were banned from the States. Did you get one of your little birds to fly in the seeds? LOL If you did send him my way.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

It was from a seed that found its way into my possesion a few years ago.......back before they cracked down on the seeds and plants so hard.I'm just WAY behind everyone elses

And they are not banned. You can apply for a permit and pay to be inspected and get a certificate and you can order from out of the country.I have all my paperwork, and was all set to be inspected...but any brugs I import have to kept 10 foot away from any plants in the brug family(which I can't do in my 10 x20 GH )and they said me keeping them in the house usually won't fly.....Since they have to be kept seperate for 2 years, and they will come 2 times a year to inspect them (and charge you to do it!)and you can't propagate them, share them or anything for 2 years...I'm just not in a big hurry to do it

I covet all the European Brugs but even though we are years behind, some of the new hybrids that are from the USA are awesome, and there are more coming every year!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

CC, I have several of those same seeds that haven't bloomed yet. two are over 12' tall with buds. hope the frost will hold out...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

CC, your pictures are soooo pretty. You are right....the brug growers here are producing some awesome brugs these days.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

This plant is very tall too Tig,its at least 8 or 9 foot...

I like it,but hoping for some recurve,so excited its not white!

And to all the people just starting in brugs, when you see seeds offered get them, baby them and even if it takes years it could become an awesome new hybrid.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I just purchased several packs of Susie's seeds. The crosses are awesome, so hope something beautiful comes out of them. I'm just debating if I should wait until Spring to plant them.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

plant them NOW,they may bloom next summer!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I've got to figure out where I can keep them over the winter where they won't damp off and die. Has anyone started them in the house?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

CC is right Sylvia. Plant them now. I usually start planting them in November, but that is because of our winter and having to grow them inside all that time. You could get yours outside and growing in no time.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very pretty!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

CC, the flowers are beautiful!
At the moment, pink versis are top in program. Three pink colored versis wild forms have pods. I am looking forward to get some robust versis out of seeds.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful CC! Those flowers sure look long in the photo.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Sylvia, I start mine in the basement under lights. Just make sure you use good seed mix, and sterile containers. Use an antifungal or bleach solution on the seeds before you plant and water with a dilute peroxide water. I didn't lose a single seedling this past year. A bit of prevention does make all the difference.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Sorry!! CC those are awesome!! I was about to ask how you got them too. LOL I figured you just hopped a plane and smuggled them back between your toes. :) Keep up the pics!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Congratulations CC. Very pretty!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Great pics CC! How long are those first blooms?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I went out and measured.

There is 23 inches from where the stem starts to the bottom of the flower.
The stem is 3",the Calyx is 10 inches

and creamsickle is blooming....thinking of pollinating this versi with it........also measured creamsickle,a tiny 15 inches

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

How much bleach to how much water for the seedlings?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Ack! I can't stay right now but do not use bleach on the seedlings!!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm dumb, dumb, dumb. I meant peroxide. By the time I read your post and went down to post, I got the bleach and the peroxide mixed up. Oh well, that's par for the course for me.

It was just a blonde moment. :) I only use about 10%. That is 1 part peroxide to 9 parts water. It helps to keep gunk from growing around your babies.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I'd like to use that excuse, but I'm a brownette. Is there such a word? lol I think it is more like a getting old moment.
