bulbs molded

Lakemont, GA(Zone 8a)

I recently received lily bulbs that I ordered from a "dutch bulb" company. Some of them are molded or mildewed. Can I still plant them or do I need to contact the co? Also, when do I plant them? They're Oriental and Asian lilies. If I can't plant them now how do I store them? THANKS!!!!

I would contact the company and expect replacements. I am sure that someone here might be able to tell you how to treat them to bring them out of it but I wouldn't want moldy bulbs.

Just my 2 cents

they will continue to rot in the ground. These bulbs must have been swrating whereever they we stored. How back is the grey mold? if it is only minor place some flowers of sulphur into a plastic back and give them a good dusting. This also works well for all bulbs as a precaution before planting them in the ground.

So when do I plant these?

how bad are they? if very small amounts dust them and plant them now. If badly affected phone your supplier now for replacements

Just contacted the co. via e-mail. IF I get replacements, when do I plant the "good" ones? They're all lilies.

as soon as would be good

Mark, Thank you so much for your help! I think it's a hoot that someone from Northern Ireland is helping me!!! I hope we can remain in touch. BTW, not that you prob. care, but I'm of Irish- Scotch descent. My surname was Turner. But it has never "SOUNDED" Scotch or Irish to me, though. Is this a common name in N.I. ? I know it is in "England".

no problem with the help.

There are Turners in N Ireland. A family lives up the street from me. It seems like lots of people on here have blood from here.
