BIG question for Gardenwife!

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Did you get to smell a brug at your RU??

Did you get one??

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

ROTF - You're too much! Nope, nary a brug bloom in sight and I didn't get one. Susie said she'll send me some in the spring so I don't have to worry about killing one while overwintering it inside. ;)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

now you are sunk...that Susie.. you are in trouble now! LOL

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Darn! You just went to the wrong RU ;~) When I saw that Cala was there, I just KNEW she'd have one for ya !

C'mon down to ours, I know you'll get to see and smell a few :)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

If I wasn't already flying to Louisiana on Sunday the 19th, we'd be tempted!

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Surely Lisa has Brugs?

We're gonna get you yet, GW ;>p

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

Where in Louisiana? I can send you home with some brugs!!!!!!!!!!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LISA WITH BRUGS? wah hahahahaha Um, Kimberley, it is looking like you might get to see a blooming brug here tomorrow!!! Maybe. I have two that are really close!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Oh, cool! So, do you just let yours go dormant in the winter in the dark? That's about the only options plants have here. The cats have control of the sunny windows, and I hate to think what would become of any brug put by one of them (or of the cats - are brugs poisonous?). Cala told me they grow 6' in one season and I could just treat them as annuals if I wanted to.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Last year I kept them all barely alive in front of windows with minimal water. I set them out when it was warm enough. This is the first year I have had over 220 or so. I am keeping the green ones inside and storing the woody ones in the garage until next year.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Gads, 220 of them? And how many elephant ears? Man, I sure wish we'd made it to your place before frost. I bet it was glorious. I need to look at your photo postings so I can get an idea of what it all looked like.

Since the remodel, our garage is no more...Plus, Nancy has to keep the blinds down or her little sausage dog barks at everything. We might be able to put a shelf up in the bedroom window - we'd just about have to put screen around it to keep Mr. Higgins out of it all. He likes to paw dirt out of pots.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm not sure on the ears Kimberley. They are still in the ground though. LOL I do think you'd be wise to take Cala's advice and get plants in the spring. Overwintering them in the house is sort of a pain. LOL

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Seed, this poor woman NEEDS to smell a brug!

(Then we'll have her hooked, LOL!)

GW, if you get an established one, it could go in a cool closet for a few months...

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Badseed, I want to know how in the world you have the energy to take care of that many brugs, elephant ears, etc., work nights, take care of your little ones and are expecting another wee one. If you take energy pills, please let me know what they are.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Well, friends, THIS is as close as I got to sniffing a brug at Badseed's. They were all in bud, *almost* but not quite open. Grrrr!

Look at those sad, sad leaves!! She didn't like being yanked from the ground. LOL I willed them to open but they just wouldn't oblige.

Sylvia, I DON'T have THAT much energy. LOL I am wearing down fast these days. :)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

That little baby is saying "slow down Mom and let me sleep."

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

LOL, Well, it looks like we'll have to continue the quest to find a brug for GW to sniff!

Shall I email the state of Louisiana or does anyone know of someone that lives close to Lisa?

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

Where does Lisa live?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Thibodaux (but she kills brugs! LOL)
