Lottie Jean:
That is a gorgeous plant! Instead of birthday cake and icecream, I'd like that plant instead! :-)
Very nice. I was feeling tired---- until I saw your pic. thanks
Very Happy Birthday delecie! There wouldn't be any calories to count that's for sure!
Yep, it's a cheery lil plant!
Sure made me feel better!
It does lift ones spirits...it came "high priced" at a foofy plant place I frequent when I need alift, but this winter I'll forget about that huge price tag.LOL
My last summer splurge on plants!
Hoping it will make lots of babies for trades, although I hear they are hard to keep...we will see...
That is one beautiful and very colorful plant! What are its growing requirements?
WOWSER!!!!!!!!!!
What a striking plant! Just curious to know what the common name is?
Watching this beauty very closely....would love to buy one but have never seen it before.....
It must be new. I did a search for it and came up with nothing. Very pretty plant.
It is Stomanthe sanguinea "Tri Color" or "TRIO STAR"....
I've added it to the DB but not sure if the info has passed yet.?? Maybe someone there will tell me more...

I have had a hard time with it's Id too. This is what I have come up with so far...any corrections are very welcomed.I searched the net but was unable to "properly Id" it...
It is being cloned for resale by several of the plant reproduction places... I have had one before but years ago in my not so sucessful gardening beginnings.LOL
It's definitely TROPICAL,moist, humid and NO SUN.
I'll keep all posted on it's life span here...:>)

The link above contains the only information that I can locate about the variegated form of this plant, at this time.
Thanks delecie!
That confirms much of what I found, too.
Only I found mine in bits & pieces!
With this info surely I will be able to keep it alive & healthy!
plants can be such a JOY!

I've had this plant for at least two years, maybe longer, it's huge. It is easy. It doesn't grow as fast as the green ones, but it sure brightens up the area.
WOW OH WOW!!!! That is absolutely GORGEOUS! It's going on my list of things to grow when I become better at gardening.
Hiya Calalily,
I have several different varieties like this but none are as breathtaking as this.
Hey,Could you share how you keep yours? Is it planted in the garden or are you keeping it as a house plant? I'd really like for mine to live a little longer than the last one. I'm always willing to learn something new....
Thanks for any tips,
MsCritterkeeper
Thats gorgeous!!!!!!
Thanks! It's a keeper!
MsCritterkeeper
MsC, is that an outdoor or indoor plant in your zone?
stunning!
Hey Lisa, do you know what this is?
Mscritterkeeper(I like your name, I feel like I live in a zoo here), Mine is in an 8" pot, I put it outside in summer, in morning sun. I water it when it's dry, but never let it get bone dry. In winter, I bring it inside the greenhouse, it's cool in there, around 45* at night. I don't know how hardy it is. They grow them outside in Hawaii.
I think I fertilized it twice this summer.
I had a green and white one but let it get bone dry last winter(I didn't mean to) and it died. It was several years old and was really big.
