frozen brugs - help!

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

I covered my brugs that were in the ground, but they look like they got zapped anyways. My question is - will they still come back from the roots if I dig them today? Or are they a lost cause? I am just sick...

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee, zone 5A is pretty cold! How cold was it last night? I have had a brug here in Zone B not come back after just 1 bad frost. Had you taken cuttings, I hope?

It got 30 (according to the news) - the frost was heavy here. No I didn't take cuttings as they were quite small - I thought they would be ok with coverings. I did get cuttings of my big ones - they were in pine trees and didn't get zapped at all (they were covered too) I am so mad at myself. What do you think about the roots coming back??? I am desperate...

It was 31 here, things are still droopy. Mine look ok, just cold.

You might as well dig them up, if you don't they'll definitely be goners. If you dig them, they might have a chance. Tonny had some in the compost pile that came back last year. All you have to lose is a little muscle power. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Dug them all up - they are in my living room - it smells like spinach in there! They are all sad and blackened - I can see a peek of fresh green on two at the base, so maybe I can save those at least. What a shame after all that love and care.

Sarv48, they should ALL come back nicely from the roots for you. just cut off til and don't water too much. Good luck with them.
