Rosabelle Is A Bloomin'

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

My little Rosabelle from Bonnie is blooming. Yea! Something besides my old faithful gold one, which is covered in blooms again. I have a question though from those of you who grow Rosabelle. Does it always have small flowers? I've never seen a brug before with such small flowers. Any size is beautiful to my eyes, but just curious.

No pictures??? We would love to see it! I do not know about the size but I have noticed alot of mine are blooming small right now. Maybe because it is getting so cold??

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Maybe that is the reason why. I just went out and looked at it again, and it seems larger than it was. It certainly is not cold here, but the nights are quite a bit cooler than they were, down in the low 60's.

Since I don't know what Rosabelle is supposed to look like, I just wondered. Still don't have a camera.

Get a camera!!! Can't have all the brugs you have and not have a camera to share the joy! GET A CAMERA!!!

I'm sowing this to my husband. lol

I think I type with a lisp - that should have been showing my husband. Maybe I just had sowing seeds on my mind, as I just received some brug seeds from Cala. Now I have to find some seed cells, or whatever they are called.

Make sure you get Susie's directions on how to germinate a brug seed. She had lots of us doing experiments last winter and her way worked the best for me! I hate to tell you the ones I lost before she clued me in.

Did you plant them directly in the seed cells after soaking, or did you use the paper towel method to germinate them?

Kell??? What are Susies directions? Is there a link somewhere??

Check this thread Shelly. It might give you some information that will be helpful.

Thanks Brugie!!

Sylvia, you have just got to get a camera so we can all enjoy your blooms. Those of us up north become bloom depreived in the winters and we count on everyone from the south US to send pictures to keep us going. I'd love to see your Rosabelle in bloom.

Getting the camera is not the main problem. The biggest problem is me and my ignorance on how to put the pictures on the forum. I don't have a digital camera (which I keep hoping my husband will buy), but I do have a Polaroid and my husband has some kind of fancy camera that I don't know how to work. I also have another brug with two big buds on it, but the name got lost, so don't know what it is. If someone will send me directions on how to put the pictures on the web, maybe I could practice with those.

Sylvia, do you have a scanner? With a scanner you can scan the pictures into the computer and save them then put them on here. Getting them on the site is easy, once they are in your computer. I've heard of people that have them put on a disc when they are developed and then put them into the computer and on the site, but I've not done that since I have a digital.

Actually, a scanner program came with our printer. We've never downloaded it. I'll have to get our oldest daughter to do it for us. She is an architectural designer and she does that all the time on her computer. I never thought of using the scanner for that. Now if she just has the time to come do it for me, I'm in business. The Rosabelle bloom is my favorite pale pink. I love it, even though it doesn't look like most of the pictures of Rosabelle.

Before I finally got my digital, I would have a CD made when I had the film developed. That works real well for emailing too.

just sent u an email Sylvia :).

edited to add:
Linda, when i did not have a digital camera, i used to take my films to Walmart- ask them to save the photo in a cd diskette for me. processind to cd, cost about $20.00 i think. that is how i used to post my photos on DG.
