ROOTING CUTTINGS

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I am having problems getting any cuttings to root. I tried 2 in soil and 2 in water. The ones in soil look dead, but the ones in water have put on little white nubbins ( I know there's a better name.....) that are apparently the beginnings of roots, but they haven't grown any since they first appeared. Any hints?
I used Rootone on the ones in pots.

It's time to pot up the ones in water with the nubbins. I think they root better at that stage. If you leave them in water too long they might start to rot. The ones in soil still might take. Is the wood still green? Don't over water them. Just keep the soil barely moist.
