I don't know who added the hardiness info, I didn't (cause I can't change it:), but it's an annual, I guess they were going on that. It's not hardy in zone 7.

Definitely not that hardy unless brought in the house for the winter like I do mine. I take cuttings, and start them over, then the next summer, out they go again.

Moretz, I only have one type of coleus and it's pretty much purple colored. Don't know the name either, but if you would want to trade cuttings I'd love to. I have some rooting and could send them off with the ND magnet yet this week. I've been waiting for DH's cousin to send us the MT magnet, but she's being pretty slow about it. I will get the magnet and the coleus cutting off by Friday if you are interested in a trade. I'll send the MT magnet when I get it.

But, if we do a trade, I will be gone all next week on a business trip, so I wouldn't want it mailed until the week after. I don't think it would survive in a box at the post office that long. (My DH doesn't do mail!)

Those are very pretty Moretz. I remember when we lived in the islands and they just grew wild everywhere. I didn't appreciate them then. I sure wish they grew that way here.

Moretz,
I'd like some of this plant, I have something my daughter brought home from school from Agriculture class...a single plant that Ive put in a cup of water wrapped in a papertowl and its never died...lol I dont think its this one but maybe the same family. Anyway, maybe I should check it and see if I have a root coming off that thing since it roots by cuttings. You have seeds? I'd like to try some of this type. LMK

Hi Moretz,
I would love to have some coleus if you have any left. Since I've discovered Dave's, I've fallen in love with brugs & now that I see all the incredible colors of coleus, I fear there's no turning back.

moretz, if you put the one you want in a separate thread instead of this one for the coleus you will share, you might find more people who might have it......
