Very pretty. I'll bet you had lots of nice compliments on your brug. I wish I could be so lucky as to have my fully budded seedlings bloom before the freeze, but since that is tonight, I guess the blooms will just have to be a figment of my imagination.

Hi Winter, beautiful blooms! This is the first time for me too!! Mini gave me a few sticks last yr. i managed to keep them alive and one actually bloomed, yellow!! Now there are several more blooms getting ready to open. I picked them up and hurried down into the basement so the frost wouldn't get them :)
Wowee! We had frost early this week and last night it went down to freezing here. 'Twas hard crawling out from under the blankets this morning.

MaVie ... Ma Belle ... I don't have a name for it ... the garden centre from which I bought it said it was a versicolor, but Monika said it wasn't ... I believe Monika .. it is supposed to have come from the same family which grows in the Herrenhauser Gardens in Hannover, Germany.

I did something the same last year, only I brought them into my office, and they nearly choked me lol ... I put them into a cellar, which was sadly a wee bit warmer than it should have been, and the big guy died, but the wee ones lived on, and from one of these wee ones is this monster now ... I thought these things only grew UP, this guy only grew SIDEWAYS!!!
GW & MONIKA, No frost here in Hamburg yet, and even if we had, I'll take it in when we have enough room in our cellar ... I won't let him totally freeze, but I am trying to be a realist gardener, and can't afford to be a fundamentalist ... I can't find enough room in our cellar to have place for plants ... sheesh! SWMBO would paralyse me lol...
Look at this picture, I was smiling but gagging under the perfume from that beast!!!! and a couple of days later, there were 12 blooms on the thing, but I was gladly "on the road", SWMBO went in one evening and chopped all of the blooms off ... aaaawwwww !!!!!
