Good morning all! I have the day off today. Usually work on Wednesday but yesterday was the last day of the fiscal year and everyone waited until the last minute to turn in their travel vouchers.
Got up early this a.m. and DH and I loaded 3 of our jersey bull calves to be taken down to the vet to be turned into gomer bull calves. We also had to go to pasture and load a cow to have the vet look at. It appeared that she had prolapsed. However, the vet said it was actually a hunk of fat that broke through her uterine wall. All he did was push it back in and sewed up her uterine wall. (Hope that makes sense.) She has been a good cow in the past and produced some nice calves but we will probably sell her because she has not settled.
We turned the furnace on to take the chill out of the air. So far we haven't had ground frost but we have had some frost on the roof.
It doesn't appear that I am going to St. Louis for any training soon. I am going to Wash. DC in December. I will only be 5 blocks from Capitol. So I should be able to do a little "sightseeing" in my spare time.
Well I'd better go. You all have a good day!
