How do they taste? :-) Sweet? Hot?
These are hot peppers. :o)
Once, I had the brilliant idea of rubbing my eyes after manipulating one of those peppers.
Yes, these ornamental peppers are hot >.
IMonocromatico, I know what you mean! It is best to wear disposable gloves when handling them especially when collecting the seeds.
this is the christmas pepper that i've been looking for. not all that i've seen have the purple fruit. can anyone help with seeds?
I do not think that I have seeds and my plants froze this winter when I forgot to put them in the greenhouse. I will check through my seed when I have time. If I find any, I will let you know.
ty for taking the time to check.
I think this is the same pepper plant that I had outside last year. It was beautiful. We had a hard freeze which killed it.
I planted another flower - a gerber - for the summer in the same soil and pot. To my amazement, I must have 100 little pepper plants coming up. It is evident that this plant does not reach maturity the first year; maybe even the second year. They appear to be slow growing.
I've been undecided as to how to proceed.
Should I remove the largest/strongest plants by gently pulling them up as you would spot tomatos, or gently dig up with a spoon to transplant.
Any help that can be offered will be appreciated. I really en;joyed this plant. I am so delighted that the seeds germinated.
Thanks!!!!
I would gently dig them up. I hope you have succes transplanting them.
