Indoor dog sled.

St. Petersburg, FL(Zone 10b)

I believe most here at DG know my dog has a wheel chair. (Back legs no-workie.)

One of the problem I have to fight several times per day is that he is an active dog. Thus he is dragging himself all over the carpet. When he is excited he moves so fast I almost cannot catch him. When he does that he burns his skin.

Well I have finally come up with an idea of how to keep a "sled" under his butt. I going to take a "No-Jump-Dog-Harness" and the straps that normally go around the rear legs will be tie to a 24" X 24" flexable piece of plastic. It will have a soft coating on it. On top of that I will be able to place the bed liners we use.

The type of plastic will be the same as what carpet installers use to place under heavy furniture so they can slide the furniture with out damage. This type is so thin but flexable that it will bend up when he stand on his front feet but at the same time it will conform to the shape of his back-end.

When I'm done with this I will post pictures. I'm sure I will end up making two as the first one will be my prototype.
