Do any of you have a good source for small bubble envelopes for seed mailing?

ebay is where I got mine.

HI Ahelms, I buy the one I use from Wal Mart. They are a 4"x7" in a pack of 10. I don't remember how much they cost , but I know it wasn't very much.

I go to Staples and buy a big box of the 5x7 manilla envelopes and a roll of bubble wrap. In the end it is way less expensive and will keep you busy for a good 100 trades. LOL

Ebay Store ...You can get a box of the smaller one's for around $20..(100 per box)

I noticed that some traders buy the bigger bubblewrap envelopes and cut them in half. The smaller envelope means less postage. The cheapest way I can send mine, if there are 6 or less packages involved, is to cut bubblewrap to fit in a legal sized letter envelope, allowing for doubling the wrap over once.

I slip the seed packets into the bubble wrap, stacking them two across, then seal up the envelope using extra scotch tape on the seams to assure it won't burst open. The envelope is no longer an option for machine canceling, so the seeds won't fall victim to the rollers, and each mailing is around 50-60 cents.

I use the premade bubble wrap envelopes for overseas or Canadian trading. No one has complained about bad packaging, so I think it is working.

The post offices here will no longer take standard sized envelopes if they are more than paper thickness. If it looks like several papers are folded up they will take them and add the 11 cent postage charge, but usually anything thick enough to hold bubble wrap is denied. :(

Thanks for all of your help. I've got to get some soon.

Too bad, Badseed. I guess they haven't started rejecting the standard bubblewrap envelopes here. They just charge the extra for hand-cancelling.
