"My husband said "oh a common white brug. Trash it!!!"
It has a beautul low calyx.
everyone, think PINK!!!!
I need to send your Hubby my Addy,if you are trashing this!I like the ruffles!
I have been waiting for this one to open,CG x EP cross from Susie,it opened last night,Kell did you sneak out here and dig it up?I know you put a white in it's place!LOL!
This is the first time I have had a bloom from seed,so I think it looks great!(but then again,I like white)
It smells like pink roses, does that count?
Really pretty one, hope it gets some color, if not pollinate it, so it's kids will have some color. Sure like those ruffles!
I think it is kinda cool, flower has the suaveolens look to it, but with a low calyx, way to go, Kell!
Those ruffles make it a special white. It is very pretty, even if it isn't pink.
I love it, Kell. It's beautiful.
It might just be my monitor but it does look to have a pink tinge to it It is beautiful with that low calyx
SOMEONE DID NOT THINK PINK!!! LOL
It still has not opened yet today, it is cold cold here! But unless it is lined in pink, we have a white hybrid here. The short tendrils make me think it is not a L'amour baby but the way the calyx is so fat and low makes me think it is one. Both Isabella and Raffaella have the skinny corolla tube. I need to crawl back under there and recheck tags! LOL
In this one, the calyx is as long as the corolla. Which gives a nice effect when the skirt is fully open.
In this pic, it is closed.
When in doubt about what to pollinate with.....use L'Amour! LOL
Kell, I really like the long calyx. I believe that you need to wait until you see the second flush of flowers to see what the true color will be. I think some of Susie's whites last summer had color the second time around.
So she tells me Frannie! LOL. though she predicted right on the other day that it would be white with a frilly edge!
I am finally starting to learn the distinguishing characteristics of the different brugs. About time.
It looks like a white crinoline petticoat. I'm not usually a white brug lover, but this really is pretty.
oh Root, I just saw your new hybrid. white means might! so there all you brug snobs! LOL
Root, that's a lot of blooms for a seedling. Just imagine that baby in a couple of years!
Kell, yours looks very frilly & girly :) It still may change color....... you never know.
I love that opening picture. Hope the new one is a beaut.
Kell I will not give this one up,or give up on it,I got these seeds from you,Susies cross,am I right?or is this your cross, please correct me if needed,I just love it!smells like pink roses.
And I am amazed at the great form this took from seed.
Keeper to me.
Susie sent them to me, I sent them to Brugie and she sent them to you! I think!!! Brugie is this right? LOL we all took a few as they went by! I have about 4 of this cross about to bloom. I think I have 10 altogether growing.
If one of its parents is pink, maybe if you cross it to pink you will get something with the nice flower shape in colour?
OK.I think I have to chain of custody straight now!LOL!Thanks S,K,S!!!!!!
Yep Kell, that is right. I sent some to Hibiscus too and honestly don't remember who got a plant at the Roundup here. I have one ready to bloom. Hope it is colored, but it looks like it will be a nice big bloom anyway.
Beautiful Kell. I wish you luck on your cross
