Passiflora ID's

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I have a habit of loosing tags...sometimes its me,sometimes it's my creatures that do it

I have no clue what this one is,or who sent it to me,this was its first bloom

And this one I think I missed seeing it bloom, but was kinda sure it was white.....

All of a sudden one day I see these purple things hanging off of it...like an idiot I thought they were buds...not fruit...LOL

also ,how do I know when the fruit is ripe.....and what ones are edible?

I would say that it is one of the foetidas called ciliata. I have pictures of various foetidas and ciliata is the only one that I see with leaves having that distinctive edge. And the flower is the same as yours.
Where did you get it?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I have no clue,it could have been Tim,Susie,Sue or who knows, like I said ,I'm real bad about tagging stuff....

Oh,someday,in the far away future I will get myself together and keep track of this stuff

But I have these great plant tags now, that appear to be peacock proof,so I want to start IDing everything......

I have some others I need to ID too, they were started from seed from Chilterns

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

CC, the second one looks like capsularis. Did it have little white flowers? You might have got that one from me at the roundup.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Sue ,I don't remember what color the flowers were but like I said it sticks in my mind that they were white.

I couldn't remember which ones I got from who.

I'll mark the 2nd one with capsularis and thanks to flicker I will mark the first one foetidas ciliata

Karyn

The 2nd is P. rubra, it has white flowers, and red fruit.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Is that what it is, Tim? Lol!! My fruits are red too and I wondered when I turned up photos of rose colored fruit on the web. I'll be darned!!

Better tell Cala... I got the seeds from her :)

How can you tell when the fruit is ripe? They feel hard to me... not very fleshy.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Poppysue, I got it as capsularis, but Tim IDed it for me as rubra too, but I'd already sent out seeds.
The seeds are ripe when the pod splits open. You have to get them fast, I think every critter around likes those seeds!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

My fruit is down right PURPLE,is it bruised?

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

Karyn,

No, it's normal. Some of mine are like yours while other are not as dark, all depends on how much light.
