When I saw the thumbnail image I thought "How did they get a little crown to balance on top of that flower?" Only when I looked at the close-up did I realize the "crown" is actually part of the flower. Very, very cool picture!

This has to be the most beautiful plant that I have ever seen and I truly thank the person who submitted this plant to the database on this site. Can anyone tell me where I could possably buy this plant in Canada? If anyone knows the answer, you can email me at helen@warp.nfld.net

If you could indeed buy a Banana plant in Canada, you would
be keeping it indoors in the winter, right?
They are the first plants to die in cold weather.

Aren't these the most incredible flowers! My local greenhouse had a huge (for a potted plant) specimen that the owner's son had had it his dorm room in college. For several months I watched (and photographed) the plant flowering.
