Anyone have Tulips for s.a.s.e. for a Newbie???
I just thought.....Tulips are not very expencive in market or in nurserys...You could just buy them from there...Posting many bulbs is pretty expencive......So it is not very smart....Maybe.
Being new at this, that didnt occur, but I guess I'll check into it. Just gotta pull myself away from this computer first lol...Im on my way to find out ...thanks for the advice Mitjo :-) Oh and congrats on the engagement of your daughter being official...thats wonderful !!!!!
Mitjo - YOU have a daughter.....is there something we don't know!!! *grin*
ut oh huh?
*winking at Annabelle* - You got Mitjo mixed with someone else. I think he's 14 years old. :-) Mitjo - my apologies if I got your age wrong.
If he has a marriagable-age daughter, this could make for a good movie of the week!
LOL yes I did, omgosh!!!! My apologies Mitjo...I was thinking of lenjo. Geesh!!!!! I saw the post from lenjo, it was her daughter for everyone's info. I am so sorry Mijo, forgive???

My son in law left for Helsinki yesterday. How is the weather up there?
Annabelle, most tulips also don't multiply much like daffodils. Be careful which ones you buy, some are not perennial. The Species tulips and the Darwin hybrids are the most dependable hybrids. I also recommend going to www.johnscheepers.com and requesting a catalog. They are the best and very reasonable.....

Thanks woodspirit, I'll check it out :-)
Bleek Where is Helinsky??? *blonde moment* lol
There are so many different kinds of spring blooming bulbs to choose from right now in the stores, that it would probably be cheaper just to buy them outright than to send someone from DG the $3.50 to $4.00 for postage. (I think that may have been what Mitjo was trying to say.)
We went to Lowe's yesterday and they had a beautiful display of spring bulbs set up. Unfortunately we have had pouring down rain for two days, and I just didn't have the enthusiasm to buy any. I did plant some Puschkinia and Muscari this year, but I had to get them in the ground between the downpours. I'm starting to feel like a duck.
:-(
Helsinki is in Finland.
Target has many different bulbs to choose from right now. Most are five packs for $3.99 which is not really cheap but they have some nice selections-doubles, streaked, and nice colors too. Easy way to try some different ones. You can usually get good deals at Kmart and Walmart too.
Cool, I went to Walmart here and looked for bulbs but all they had at the time was Hyacinth bulbs and iris's...oh and some onion bulbs too lol...I'll go check for some at either Target, k-mart, lowe's, or Home Depot. Surely they have some out. Thanks guys! Youre right, kinda silly to have someone send them when I could probably pay the same amount here. :-)
rofl Indashade, you starting to waddle you gettin' so much rain hon? I guess its on its way over this way...better get my galoshes out :-)
