Oriental Lily culture

What is the best time to plant/transplant Oriental lillies? I live in zone 6B-7A and have 2 new ones (for me) ordered, Muscadet and Dizzy. I also have some Stargazer and more coming that I bought on eBay. My spousal unit is crazy about them. I hope to get some "Turk's Cap" bulbs too. Does anyone have some of them they would like to trade. I still have lots of very pretty ajuga and some obedient plant left.

Betty, I planted mine about this time of the year when I got them 2 years ago. Then last year, also about this time, I transplanted many of them. They did fine, and even multiplied!

Wow, thanks. I was afraid that it was too early to plant them and wasn't sure what to do about the ones coming in from the ebay auction. I also have a few more in too much shade, but bloomed nicely. I can't wait until I get the Muscadet and Dizzy, but according to an article I just read in Carolina Gardner, they may not as prolific or hardy as Star Gazer. We'll see........
The article was on Species Lilies, and I had no idea Stargazer was one. Other were the Lillium regales, Lillium formosanum which prefers open grassy fields, and The Coral lily (lillium pumilum). I also want to get some of our local Turk's cap lillies and some tiger lillies but have no idea where I'm going to put all this stuff.
Do you know of a lady in the Swannanoa area that sells lillies? I heard that if you take that exit off I-40 that there is a lady there somewhere that grows and sells lillies.
