Lady Margaret is a lovely passionvine. The flowers are about 2 and 1/2 inches+. It is a hybrid of vitafolia and caerulea. Both of these vines are cold hardy. Last winter I left her in the ground, well mulched, and the original root returned with several nice shoots. There were also a few root suckers running in the garden.
passiflora Lady Margaret
When I saw the nice root suckers coming up, I moved them to the unplanted side of the trellis. This gave me a much fuller vine for the summer. Caterpillars don't like the leaves too much. They are tough. You will see a few cats, however. I didn't bother to pick them off this year. Of course, the large majority of eggs were laid on incense, Lavender Lady, Dakota, and caerulea.
Wow, that's a gorgeous vine! I killed mine :-(
Mine has bloomed three times this summer, love it! Thanks for sharing.
Flicker, another beauty, I just got the Lady Margret last week now I know what I have to look forward to.....Thanks so much for the pictures.... :o)
Flicker, your photos are georgeous. I have about 7 kinds of passion flowers. Are all passion flowers hardy here in Covington or just some of them? I put mine in GH last winter but would rather leave them out.
