Beautiful plant needs name-having identify crisis

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Several years ago I bought this beautiful plant in FL and lost the name tag. I keep it in greenhouse in winter for fear it will die and set it outside in summer. It has never bloomed-doesn't need to bloom-beautiful without. I remember the nursery salesperson told me it was patented.

It sure is pretty, even if it doesn`t ever bloom. Have you tried to make cuttings. I think I would just in case something happened to it.Heaven forbid.

Ok OK i'm done...back to the mystery plant....Sorry Bward

Tampa, FL(Zone 9b)

it is a hibiscus!

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

It looks a little like a varigated Ardesia sp?

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

I knew I had seen that somewhere, like Tampa where my Aunt lives.

Lake Mary, FL(Zone 9b)

inclined to agree with vredfish - give it max sun and hold off on the water and see if you get some buds going.

Bward:

Your plant reminds me of Graptophyllum pictum. The leaves can be green and yellow or bronze, orange, pink, or purplish with paler markings.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Good shot delecie,
............real close but all the examples I found had the color pattern reversed,,,being white in the center instead of on the edge of the leaf, and even the Graptophyllum Pictum Red does not have the red underside that Bward's beauty has.
Keep trying ,I bet you will come up with the name....I'm sure out of it ;-)

Bward, What part of Florida? Central, south, northwest?

Fort Lauderdale, FL

Hi Barbara,
It is a variegated Clerodendrum quadriloculare 'Brandonii'.
They also get a big cluster of flowers in the winter.
