Great seeds to give away - round 2

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Please note that the most interesting seeds are spoken for. The list below is being updated so you know what you can expect to receive.

The demand has been great and I am very happy that my seeds will get good homes. Thank you.

-------------------------------------------------------

OK, the 22 envelopes from the first round are ready to be mailed on Monday and, as promised, this is round 2.

I still have a lot of seeds left and our new seed-collecting-season is about to start. I will send 10 to 15 different packages of your choice (please list 20 or more in case some have gone).

Subscribed Members have the first choice.

This time I will receive the requests of 20 Subscribed Members that post here first and then e-mail me their addresses.

You don't have to send anything in exchange. No postage required. Only if you can and you are happy with the seeds I am sending you, please send Dave (yes, the one from Daves Garden - LOL) one dollar (or a buck!) as a contribution for members that cannot pay for their membership renewal. Somebody already suggested to name it "The Angel Fund".
I have been in that situation before and there was always an angel there for me. Dave will have to decide anonimously whom to grant the membership renewal. I have e-mailed Dave and I am awaiting his instructions for the most expedite way to submit your VOLUNTARY contributions.

This is what I have left (first come, first goes):

Hello to all participants!

Yesterday I mailed the following thext to all participants of Round 2, but my Yahoo Mailer Daemon reported several failure deliveries. That's why I'm posting this here today so that everybody is informed.

Dear Amigos,

I am very pleased to let you all know that today the first 2 DG Registered Members of Round 1 have received their seeds: Annabellegabby and TombstoneJan. The seeds for all participants were mailed exactly one wek later, so you should expect yours to reach you from Monday next week on. Please keep me updated.

I thought maybe some of the Chilean Native Plants could be unknown to you. An Altavista search led me to this link: http://www.ujf-grenoble.fr/JAL/chili/. If you go to the list of plants page http://www.ujf-grenoble.fr/JAL/chili/ and make a click on the botanical names, you will find beautiful pictures of the flowers. However, as anything created by humans, this is not fully perfect. I have not gone through all pictures yet, but already found 2 mistakes. Stachys grandidentata actually pictures a Schizanthus and Helenium aromaticum pictures something totally different. All in all, the page is great!

Thanks to all of you for giving my precious seeds good new homes. Just remember not to overwater the plants and provide them with good drainage.

An additional "thank you" to all the participants that were able to send a donation for the Garden Angels Fund. Remember this was not a condition to get the seeds, but an absolutely voluntary donation for a fund I personally think is great.

I wish you all a mild winter, planning where you will plant the seeds from Chile, imagining how your garden will look next spring and great success with the sowing process. At that time I will be sun-baking and collecting fresh seeds to exchange with you next year.

A big hug,

Ursula

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Ursula, I recieved my seeds today. Thank you so much!!!! They will grow well here, I am sure. I think they will be very happy in Florida.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Thank you soooooo much Ursula!! I recieved my seeds today as well. WOW what a selection! Thank you for sharing :)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Got mine too dear one! Thanks bunches!!

Helena, AL(Zone 7b)

Got my seeds today, what a great selection! You are a doll!

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

Got my seeds today also. A great selection! Many thanks and I hope I can do them proud. I intend to devote some winter months and grow light hours to getting these to grow. Lou

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Ursula, thank you so much for the seeds. They were here when I returned from vacation yesterday. You took so much time to package and label them. I wish there was a way to repay you for the postage. Maybe if some of us sending funds to Garden Angels put your name on the gift, you can have a free membership when it's time for you to renew. I will send my check tomorrow. Thank you again.

I will do some research and find the best germination and growing conditions, then get them started over the winter under grow lights.

Linda

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

They arrived today and I am impressed. Snoopy is way cool and yes I will plant the freesia bulbils RIGHT NOW. I look forward to seeing these prosper and I will think of you and Chile each time I see them.
Thank you!
Thank You!
Thank You!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

Ursula, Are all of the seed gone? I was late on the firat one too but I was interested in some of them in perticular.

Blue Springs, MO(Zone 5b)

What a hoot those little bulbles were, Ursula!! Thank you thank you thank you!! xvmercy was here visiting so I sent two little pots w/freesia in it home w/her - I used teeny clay pots, a couple bigger pots, some in w/my lemon tree, put some outside - they were already sprouting!! SO great, all the seeds - can't hardly wait a couple more months to start them!!!! Wheeeee!

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Dear friends,

I have now all participants' acknowledgement of receipt, except for Padre who has not received his seeds so far. However, considering a percentage of missing seeds to be more or less normal, I have enough seeds to compensate him. All in all, I consider this Second Round a total success: my seeds are in the best hands!

My most sincere THANK YOU to all participants that were able to contribute to the Garden Angels Fund. I think it is important we keep this fund alive - there's always somebody in the need of help to remain among us and our Angels Trish and Dave are just perfect choosing the right ones.

The only way I could be even happier with this deal is that next season I saw you posting pictures of plants/flowers obtained from the seeds I sent you, or posting your own seeds (obtained from the ones I sent you) for exchange.

Big hug to ((((((((((all participants))))))))))

Ursula from Chile, who loves hugs (LOL)

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Padre got his seeds today!!!!! That makes Round 2 a 100% success!!!!

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)
