There is another plant of this same family whose flower is like a small buttercup without the black center that the square petal calylophus has. Would you know the name of this plant?

At the moment I do not know the plant of which you are referring. However, I will do some research and see if I am able to locate it. If I do, I will let you know. I think I saw it the other day in my Texas native plants book.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I found the Calylophus hartwegii that does not have the black center as well as several others.
